How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Type – Full-time, Permanent

Location – Central Support, Hemel Hempstead with some travel to parks

What we need, in a nutshell:

We’re looking for a proactive and people-focused People Coordinator to join our Central Support team. This could be an exciting first step in your HR career, where you’ll play a key part in supporting colleagues and managers across the full employee lifecycle. Working closely with the Central People Partner and wider People Operations team, you’ll help bring our values and culture to life, ensuring our people feel supported, engaged, and empowered to do their best work every day.

    Who are we?

We are a dynamic and growing company, shaking up the Great British holiday. With 27 amazing UK resorts, we pull out all the stops and add the bells and whistles to give our guests the holiday of a lifetime.

    What you’ll be doing:

    • Providing day-to-day People admin and support across the business.
    • Providing support to the Talent Attraction Manager with recruitment and onboarding activities, from advertising vacancies and coordinating interviews to preparing contracts, completing compliance checks, and welcoming new starters.
    • Providing proactive diary management and administrative support to the People Leadership Team, coordinating meetings, priorities, travel, and key People activities.
    • Working closely with the Central People Partner to deliver the People Plan and support a range of People initiatives and projects.
    • Coordinating mandatory training and supporting learning and development activities to ensure colleagues have the tools and knowledge to succeed.
    • Supporting employee relations processes, including preparing documentation, taking meeting notes, and ensuring timely follow-up actions.
    • Being a friendly first port of call for managers and colleagues with People queries, signposting to the right policies, processes and people.
    • Maintaining accurate People records, HR systems, and reporting, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, GDPR, and company policies.
    • Supporting employee engagement, wellbeing, equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives that bring our values and culture to life.
    • Building good working relationships across the business and getting stuck into People projects when necessary.

Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need:

    • Highly organised with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Comfortable with Microsoft Office and quick to pick up new systems and technology.
    • A great communicator who can build positive relationships and adapt their style to different audiences.
    • Proactive, solutions-focused, and always willing to roll up their sleeves to get things done.
    • Professional, approachable, and passionate about creating a great colleague experience.
    • A collaborative team player with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
    • Experience in hospitality, leisure, retail, or another people-focused environment is advantageous.
    • An interest in developing a career in People, with CIPD study or aspirations viewed positively.

It’s the icing on the cake, but not essential if you have experience in the leisure and hospitality sector.

It’s about your values too. We have a can-do, people-centred ethos at Away Resorts, and we look for certain qualities in our team members. Have a read about it and see if you fit the bill.
