How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Contract Length: 12 Months

Pay Rate: £18.30 per hour PAYE / £23.33 per hour Umbrella

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and motivated Insurance Claims Officer to join a busy and supportive Insurance team on a 12-month contract basis with one of our Client.

This opportunity would suit a recent graduate, particularly someone with an interest in law, insurance, claims handling, or public sector services. A law degree or similar qualification would be beneficial, however this is not essential. We are keen to speak with candidates who are eager to learn, develop professionally, and build a long-term career within insurance or legal services.

Full training will be provided, making this an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in liability claims and legal case handling. Many previous Insurance Officers have successfully progressed into training contracts and roles within large insurance law firms, making this a fantastic stepping stone into the legal and insurance sectors.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Investigate liability insurance claims including personal injury, highways, and property-related claims
    • Assess legal liability and support the settlement or defence of claims
    • Manage claims in line with Civil Procedure Rules and Ministry of Justice guidelines
    • Gather evidence, witness statements, and supporting documentation
    • Liaise with solicitors, claimants, external stakeholders, and internal departments
    • Negotiate settlements and assist with legal cost discussions
    • Maintain accurate records and update claims databases
    • Attend site visits, meetings, and hearings where required
    • Support senior colleagues with reporting, stakeholder meetings, and case updates

    What We’re Looking For

    • Strong interest in law, insurance, or claims handling
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads effectively
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
    • Confident IT and administration skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

    Ideal Background

    • Law graduate or similar academic background preferred
    • Graduates and entry-level candidates encouraged to apply
    • Previous experience within administration, legal support, insurance, customer service, or claims handling would be advantageous

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience within a professional insurance environment while receiving ongoing training and development support.

If shortlisted, a recruiter from the team will contact you within 24–48 hours for an initial discussion. The call will come from a Manchester number (either 0161 or +44 161).
