Insurance Claims Officer
Location: Hybrid Working – Work from Home & Kensington (During training the role will be fully onsite)
Contract Length: 12 Months
Pay Rate: £18.30 per hour PAYE / £23.33 per hour Umbrella
We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and motivated Insurance Claims Officer to join a busy and supportive Insurance team on a 12-month contract basis with one of our Client.
This opportunity would suit a recent graduate, particularly someone with an interest in law, insurance, claims handling, or public sector services. A law degree or similar qualification would be beneficial, however this is not essential. We are keen to speak with candidates who are eager to learn, develop professionally, and build a long-term career within insurance or legal services.
Full training will be provided, making this an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in liability claims and legal case handling. Many previous Insurance Officers have successfully progressed into training contracts and roles within large insurance law firms, making this a fantastic stepping stone into the legal and insurance sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate liability insurance claims including personal injury, highways, and property-related claims
- Assess legal liability and support the settlement or defence of claims
- Manage claims in line with Civil Procedure Rules and Ministry of Justice guidelines
- Gather evidence, witness statements, and supporting documentation
- Liaise with solicitors, claimants, external stakeholders, and internal departments
- Negotiate settlements and assist with legal cost discussions
- Maintain accurate records and update claims databases
- Attend site visits, meetings, and hearings where required
- Support senior colleagues with reporting, stakeholder meetings, and case updates

- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads effectively
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
- Confident IT and administration skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Ideal Background
- Law graduate or similar academic background preferred
- Graduates and entry-level candidates encouraged to apply
- Previous experience within administration, legal support, insurance, customer service, or claims handling would be advantageous
