How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Business Development Specialist will be a key role to coordinate, execute and help plan the Firm’s Business Development programs and initiatives for relevant practices within the London-based teams of Global Finance, including Private Credit & Leveraged Finance, Capital Markets, Structured Credit; and, Restructuring, as well as associated cross-practice industry and product initiatives.


    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


    Business Development and Client Growth

    Support initiatives that strengthen client relationships, drive revenue growth, and advance practice group business plans.

    • Collaborating with Business Development team to support all aspects of business development within these practices and across relevant global and regional cross-practice groups, in order to help cultivate new and existing business relationships and opportunities.


    Market and Business Intelligence

    Leverage research and analysis to identify growth opportunities and inform business development strategies.

    • Managing a leading Deal Tracking system for the Global Finance group in London.
    • Coordinating and updating Client Coverage trackers for Global Finance, Restructuring and relevant cross-practice groups in London.
    • Collecting and maintaining client lists, industry experience and related matter data across all relevant groups.
    • Facilitating business, client, and industry research to support strategic decision-making and uncover new business opportunities.
    • Working with the CRM team to maintain client contact information and mailing lists.


    Pitches, Proposals, and Marketing Collateral

    Contribute to the preparation of high-quality client-facing materials and customised proposals that highlight the firm’s strengths and capabilities.

    • Develop and coordinate responses to RFPs and pitch opportunities.
    • Draft, update, and manage business development materials and experience records, including brochures, one-pagers, and presentations.
    • Assisting the BDM, wider BD and Research teams, to help research and target pitching prospects in advance and ensure that attending attorneys are fully briefed: conducting market and client research to ensure tailored, strategic pitches and submissions.
    • Coordinating follow-up and continued tracking of prospects, pitches and opportunities.
    • Help manage the process for league table, legal directory, and award submissions – including timeline management, content coordination, drafting, and follow-up – in collaboration with external consultants and internal stakeholders.


    Events, Sponsorships, and Thought Leadership

    Support client engagement and profile-raising efforts through thoughtful event planning, sponsorships, and strategic partnerships.

    • Collaborate with Events team on logistics for client events and conferences, including agenda and program preparation, speaker coordination, create invite list and tracking status, and on-site support as needed.
    • Evaluate and assist with the execution of sponsorships, partnerships, and other profile-raising initiatives.


    Collaboration and Project Management

    Foster strong collaboration across departments to ensure the seamless execution of business development initiatives.

    • Partner with colleagues across Business Development, Marketing, Communications, and other administrative teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality work.
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met.
    • Maintain organised workflows, communicate project status updates, and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
    • Coordinate BD group meetings, including agenda planning, presenter confirmation, and follow-up communications.


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role in a professional services firm
    • Law firm experience preferred
    • Manage and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision
    • Communicate effectively with lawyers, staff and peers
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent analytic and organisational skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience preferred
    • Willingness to work collaboratively as a member of a team with a positive attitude
    • Allocate work, prioritise and recognise resources required of a project
    • High level of attention to detail and meticulous follow through
    • Flexibility to adjust work schedule according to workload demands, and evolve with position as required


    This position will require physical presence in Proskauer’s offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm or as business needs require).
