How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Monday to Friday (6:00am-14:00pm, 14:00pm-10:00pm, 7:00am-15:30pm)

    Company Overview

    Our client is a well-established and growing food manufacturing business operating within a fast-paced production environment. They are seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team and play a key role in maintaining production efficiency and site reliability.

    Role Overview

    This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support the maintenance and continuous improvement of a highly automated production facility. Reporting into the Engineering function, you will be responsible for ensuring production machinery, plant equipment, and building services systems remain fully operational through both reactive and planned maintenance activities.

    The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-moving 24/7 manufacturing environment, demonstrating strong fault-finding capabilities across electrical, mechanical, and control systems while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs across production and site equipment.

    * Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities in line with TPM schedules.

    * Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, inverter drives, HMIs, control circuits, and associated automation systems.

    * Service and maintain conveyors, packaging machinery, weighers, wrapping equipment, gas flush systems, and associated production assets.

    * Support the maintenance and operation of site building services, including refrigeration, HVAC, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, air handling units, and Building Management Systems (BMS).

    * Ensure accurate maintenance records are completed and updated.

    * Support compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Company policies.

    * Participate in continuous improvement, TPM, and lean manufacturing initiatives.

    * Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and improve plant performance.

    Requirements

    * Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideally food, FMCG, packaging, or automotive.

    * Strong electrical fault-finding experience on industrial machinery and control systems.

    * Experience working with: PLCs and automation systems, Inverter drives and motor controls, HMIs and control interfaces, Three-phase electrical systems, DC control circuits and safety circuits

    * Ability to read and interpret: Electrical schematics, Hydraulic diagrams, Pneumatic drawings, Mechanical engineering drawings

    * Experience managing planned preventative maintenance programmes and TPM systems.

    * Strong mechanical maintenance skills, including: Gearbox repairs, Motor repairs, Fabrication and welding, Basic plumbing

    * Knowledge of building services systems and controls.

    * Experience working with statutory compliance, health and safety procedures, and site maintenance standards.

    * Ability to prioritise workload effectively and work independently when required.

    * Strong problem-solving and fault-diagnosis skills.

    Qualifications

    * HNC in Engineering or equivalent recognised engineering qualification.

    * IEE 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

    * IOSH or NEBOSH qualification (desirable)

    * Food Safety qualification (desirable)
