We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Transport Junior to join our UK transport operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career within the transport and logistics industry, gaining hands-on experience while supporting our transport planning team.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Process customer job requests accurately and efficiently.
- Add and manage transport jobs within the company’s Transport Management System (TMS).
- Use port and customer systems to make vehicle bookings.
- Monitor deliveries using vehicle tracking systems and provide updates where required.
- Contact shipping lines to obtain empty container return details.
- Send job information and instructions to drivers and assist with any queries.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding booking issues, delivery updates, and delays.
- Support senior transport planners with day-to-day operational duties.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all transport information is updated correctly.
- Work closely with drivers, customers and internal departments to ensure smooth operations.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- A willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.
- Basic IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- A keen interest in UK container and curtainside transport (desirable).
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment.
