How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quality Engineer

    Location: Oxfordshire
    Salary: Up to £45,000 + Benefits
    Type: Full-Time | Permanent

    Syntech Recruitment are supporting a leading precision engineering and manufacturing organisation in the search for an experienced Quality Engineer. This role would suit a quality professional with a strong manufacturing background who is experienced in customer and supplier quality management, quality systems, auditing and continuous improvement.

    Quality Engineer Responsibilities

    *

    Act as the primary quality interface between customers, suppliers and manufacturing teams

    *

    Investigate and resolve quality-related issues across production operations

    *

    Train manufacturing personnel on inspection methods, quality standards and measurement techniques

    *

    Manage and maintain calibration systems for measurement and test equipment

    *

    Support the setup and control of inspection equipment used within production

    *

    Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives

    *

    Translate customer quality requirements into manufacturing documentation and processes

    *

    Produce inspection reports, trend analysis and quality performance metrics

    *

    Manage non-conformances and customer complaints using structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D and 5 Why analysis

    Quality Engineer Requirements

    *

    Minimum five years' experience within a Quality Engineer or similar manufacturing quality role

    *

    Mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent engineering background

    *

    Strong understanding of manufacturing quality systems and processes

    *

    Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings

    *

    Experience using a range of inspection and measurement techniques

    *

    Proven experience producing inspection reports and quality documentation

    *

    Strong customer and supplier quality management experience

    *

    Experience conducting internal and supplier audits

    *

    Project management and stakeholder coordination skills

    *

    Competent user of Microsoft Office applications

    *

    Ability to train and mentor colleagues on quality-related subjects
