How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

If so, we’d love to hear from you! We’re Breedon, the UK and Ireland’s largest independent construction materials group, and we’re on the lookout for a motivated Sales and Customer Service Agent to join our Special Aggregates team. Based at our Breedon Quarry offices, you’ll be part of a friendly and dynamic team that supports a nationwide customer base with market-leading decorative aggregate and self-binding gravel products.
    Key Responsibilities
    What’s the role all about?As a Sales and Customer Service Agent, you’ll play a vital role in our Commercial team. Your focus? Delivering top-tier customer service and sales support for our Building Products division.You’ll:

    Respond to inbound customer enquiries

    Price, chase, and win orders

    Process incoming orders, including through our new Ecommerce platform

    Track orders and liaise with internal teams from quote through to delivery

    Provide technical support to ensure the right products reach the right customers

    Work with transport and operations to coordinate smooth, on-time deliveries

    Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
    What we're looking for:You’ll thrive in this role if you’re someone who loves engaging with people and takes pride in delivering outstanding service. Specifically, we’re looking for:

    Strong telephone sales background

    Experience in customer service

    Strong communication and rapport-building skills

    A proactive and organised approach

    Attention to detail and accuracy

    Confidence using email and phone as primary tools

    Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
    Experience in the building materials industry is a bonus—but not essential. We’ll give you the training and support to succeed.
