About the Role:
This new position of Applications Scientist will deepen the scientific understanding of the behaviour of casings & co-extrusion gels in customer applications, with the objective to enable the creation of competitive gaps through innovative products and technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Create science-based insights into the behaviour of casings and gels in customer applications.
- As a member of the Science & Technology team, collaborate with Material Scientists and Process Engineers to ideate on & develop innovative products and technologies through the application of scientific insights.
- Deliver scientific application insights in product development projects that enable the development of technical solutions to well-defined customer problems.
- Work within established project management plans to achieve specific goals.
- Ensure adequate protection of Intellectual Property.
- Generate and develop new, application science-based ideas.
About You:
Skills:
- Level of education required - Master or PhD.
- Fields: Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Food Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology.
Knowledge:
- The technical skills will be used in the development of innovative technologies in R&D.
Experience:
- At least three years of experience in Research, Product Development or Technical Applications at Devro OR
- At least three years of experience in a technical role in sausage or meat product manufacture.
- Experience in scientific work on a lab or pilot scale.
