How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League is looking for a dedicated and insightful Regional Recruitment Coordinator to spearhead our talent identification efforts for the U7-U10 age groups.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute directly to the development and delivery of our Pre-Academy recruitment strategy, identifying players with the potential to become future stars.

Reporting to the Head of Recruitment, you will be instrumental in scouting and assessing young players, building relationships within the football community, and ensuring our recruitment processes are robust and effective.

The ideal candidate will be completing regular reports and act as a professional ambassador for Stoke City Football Club at all times, representing the Club with integrity.

The role requires a high degree of flexibility to cover evening and weekend work. The position will be offered on a full time permanent basis.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Proactively identifying and monitoring promising young players within the U7-U10 age bracket, aligning with the Club's recruitment strategy and squad requirements.
    • Attending a wide range of fixtures, tournaments, and grassroots events to scout potential new talent, acting swiftly on emerging opportunities and information.
    • Utilising data effectively to support recruitment decisions and articulating informed conclusions during regular scout meetings.
    • Liaising with the recruitment department to arrange trials for identified exceptional talents.
    • Cultivating strong working relationships with internal scouts and developing a robust network of external scouting and intermediary contacts.
    • Communicating effectively and appropriately with players, parents, guardians, and Club staff, always prioritising safeguarding and clear communication.
    • Demonstrating excellent organisational skills and self-management to prioritise tasks effectively in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
    • Maintaining a thorough understanding of youth player development stages and the nuances of the U7-U10 age groups.
    • Engaging in continual professional development to ensure your work is of the highest quality.

    Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications

    • Proven experience in football scouting, recruitment, or a related sports development role, with a strong understanding of player identification and development, particularly within youth age groups.
    • Exceptional eye for talent and the ability to assess potential in young players (U7-U10).
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
    • Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage workload effectively under pressure.
    • Thorough understanding of safeguarding principles and a commitment to child welfare is paramount.
    • Knowledge of football at various levels, with an awareness of player development pathways.
    • Full UK driving licence and FA Talent Identification Level is desirable.

This organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults at risk and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Background checks and DBS checks at the appropriate level will be obtained prior to employment commencing.

Closing date for applications is Tuesday 16th June 2026.
