How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Tax Associate - London - International Law Firm

We are working with a leading international law firm in London on an excellent opportunity for a Tax Associate to join a highly regarded and growing tax practice.

This is a strong opportunity for an NQ–4 PQE lawyer who is looking to build their career in a broad, high-quality and commercially focused tax team, advising on a wide range of corporate, finance and transactional matters.

The team advises across a full spectrum of UK and international tax work, with exposure to complex, cross-border transactions and a sophisticated client base that includes corporates, financial institutions, private equity sponsors, investment funds, asset managers, lenders, borrowers and high-growth businesses.

    The role

You will work closely with partners and senior associates on a broad range of tax matters, including:

    • M&A and corporate tax

    • Private equity transactions

    • Funds and investment structures

    • Finance and banking transactions

    • Real estate tax

    • Capital markets transactions

    • Restructurings and reorganisations

    • International tax planning

    • Tax structuring

    • Incentives and management equity

    • Cross-border transactions

    • General advisory tax work

The role offers excellent variety and is particularly well suited to someone who wants to develop as a rounded transactional tax lawyer, rather than being placed into a narrow practice area too early.

    The ideal candidate

We are keen to speak with NQ–4 PQE tax associates who have trained or qualified at a leading City, national, international or specialist tax practice.

You may already be sitting in a tax team, or you may be a newly qualified lawyer with strong tax seat experience and a genuine interest in developing your career in this area.

The firm is looking for someone with strong technical ability, excellent drafting skills, commercial awareness and a proactive approach to client service.

    You should have:

    • NQ–4 PQE in tax, or strong tax seat experience as a trainee

    • Exposure to corporate tax, transactional tax, finance tax, funds tax, real estate tax or international tax

    • A strong academic background

    • Excellent drafting and analytical skills

    • Commercial judgement and attention to detail

    • The confidence to work directly with senior lawyers and clients

    • A genuine interest in complex, cross-border tax work

    • A collaborative and ambitious approach

    Why this opportunity stands out

    • Leading international law firm platform

    • Broad and varied tax practice

    • High-quality corporate, finance and funds-related work

    • Strong partner access and hands-on training

    • Excellent development for junior associates

    • Exposure to international and cross-border transactions

    • Supportive team culture

    • Clear progression opportunities

    • Strong long-term career prospects

This is a great opportunity for a junior tax lawyer who wants to join a respected international firm, gain exposure to high-quality transactional tax work and develop within a collaborative and commercially focused team.
