How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    UX Designer - Part-Time, Permanent

Up to £50,000 pro rata | Great benefits

    London (N1) | 2 days/week on-site

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established international publishing house. They're looking for a talented UX Designer to join them on a permanent, part-time basis and contribute to the ongoing development of their customer-facing digital platforms.

We are ideally looking for proven experience, highlighted in a portfolio or work examples in a similar industry such as publishing or academic research.

    The Role

You'll be embedded within the client's digital and product teams, supporting the design and navigation of selected customer-facing pages across their web platforms. It's a hands-on role where your work will have a direct and visible impact on how researchers, librarians and authors experience their products online.

    What You'll Be Doing

    • Reviewing and redesigning key customer-facing pages for clarity, usability and intuitive navigation
    • Producing wireframes, prototypes and design documentation to communicate your thinking
    • Collaborating with product managers, developers and content teams to deliver practical design solutions
    • Drawing on user research to inform and validate design decisions
    • Ensuring consistency with wider design systems and accessibility standards

    What We're Looking For

    • Proven UX design experience with a portfolio demonstrating web platform work
    • A background in publishing, academic, media or a closely related content-led industry
    • Strong skills in wireframing and prototyping tools (Figma or equivalent)
    • Solid grasp of information architecture and user journey mapping
    • Collaborative and comfortable working as part of an established in-house team

    The Details

    • Salary: up to £50,000 pro rata
    • Great benefits package
    • Part-time, permanent position
    • Hybrid: up to 2 days/week on-site in N1, remainder remote

This is a great opportunity to join a globally respected publishing brand in a flexible, permanent role, working on digital experiences that serve a large, international user base.
