How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Technical Artist – Console/PC Games Studio – North East


    A North East based Games studio are currently looking for a Technical Artist to work on a range of new titles on Console/PC platforms. The studio is renowned in the industry for creating high end games and have continually set the bar in the market on both single and multiplayer titles.


    As the Technical Artist you will collaborate with the current Art Director to help with bridging the gap between artists and engineers, ensuring an efficient art pipeline and optimised game and systems. Also help develop tools to help streamline their development processes, helping keep things moving in a small collaborative team.


    The role will complement someone looking for creative freedom and a chance to leave their thumbprint on a series of multiplatform projects, overseeing features from concept to completion.


    The studio offers a range of benefits which include, flexible working hours, pension, enhanced Maternity and Paternity packages, life and health insurance, free games/merch and a generous holiday allowance. This role is 100% remote working (indefinitely) or can be hybrid if you prefer some onsite days.


    You must be based in and eligible to work in the UK already as we are unable to sponsor visas.


    Salary range - £27,000-£40,000


    Requirements


    • Experience as a Technical Artist in the games industry on mobile, PC or console games
    • Strong Unity 3D or Unreal Engine experience and a good technical understanding of their features
    • Good knowledge of one scripting language – Python, C# (preferred) or Maxscript
    • Shader development experience
    • 3DS Max or Maya experience
    • Experience creating VFX shaders, particle systems would be a bonus
    • An online portfolio showing your past/current work
