How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Working closely with Buying, Technical, Compliance, Operations, and external manufacturing partners, you will act as a key gatekeeper for product quality and documentation accuracy.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Material specifications
    • Ensure all products meet relevant UK and EU legislation (e.g., General Product Safety Regulations, REACH, RoHS, CA Prop 65 where applicable).
    • Maintain structured internal records and compliance databases.

    Product Evaluation & Testing

    • Review supplier samples against submission documentation and approved specifications.
    • Conduct in-house product testing where applicable and document findings.
    • Provide structured, technical feedback to suppliers and internal teams.
    • Identify non-conformities and manage corrective action processes.

    Supplier Quality & Continuous Improvement

    • Work closely with international suppliers to:
    • Implement and maintain product performance standards
    • Drive corrective and preventative action (CAPA)
    • Ensure timely approvals before production and shipment
    • Use data insights and risk management principles to identify trends and reduce recurring quality issues.
    • Contribute to supplier performance scorecards and audits.

    Risk Management & Insight

    • Apply technical knowledge to new product development and product change projects.
    • Conduct supplier and product risk assessments.
    • Analyse returns data, customer feedback, and quality incidents to identify improvement opportunities.
    • Support root cause investigations and preventative measures.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Engage with Buying, Operations, Warehouse, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to maintain a clear understanding of product safety and quality expectations.
    • Provide internal guidance on compliance requirements during product development.
    • Support commercial teams by balancing business objectives with regulatory obligations.

    Expectations & Cultural Fit

At Keplin, we value accountability, agility, and ownership. The ideal candidate will:

    • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners and global suppliers to achieve business goals.
    • Balance commercial priorities with legal and safety requirements confidently.
    • Be a proactive self-starter with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
    • Remain resilient and calm under pressure in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
    • Demonstrate strong organisational and project management capability.
    • Show genuine passion for product quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
    • Take ownership of problems and drive practical, solution-focused outcomes.

    Mandatory Experience, Skills & Qualifications

    • Degree (or equivalent) in Scientific Engineering, Product Technology, Quality Management, or a related field within consumer or household goods.
    • Technical experience within Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Retail, or FMCG environments.
    • Experience working with both internal stakeholders and external international suppliers.
    • Strong attention to detail with structured documentation control capability.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Ability to collect, organise, analyse data and draw meaningful conclusions.
    • Strong analytical skills with excellent written reporting capability.
    • Understanding of UK/EU product safety legislation (highly desirable).

    What This Role Offers

    • Exposure to a wide variety of general merchandise product categories.
    • Direct involvement in supplier development and product lifecycle management.
    • Opportunity to shape quality processes within a fast-scaling FMCG group.
