How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We’re recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join our team and help deliver outstanding residential and commercial projects across the West Midlands and beyond.

    About W13 Ltd

W13 Ltd is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary company specialising in residential and commercial projects. We pride ourselves on excellence, innovation, and delivering high-quality solutions that meet client expectations—every time.

As we continue to expand, we’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor who will bring strong commercial skills, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset.

In this role, you’ll help manage the costs and commercial performance of projects from inception to completion. You’ll work closely with project teams to support delivery within budget, while maintaining quality, compliance, and value.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects (materials, labour, overheads, and associated costs)
    • Review specifications and drawings to identify cost risks, opportunities, and cost-effective solutions
    • Support procurement activity, including obtaining quotes, negotiating contracts, and selecting suppliers/subcontractors
    • Monitor budgets and expenditure, comparing actuals to forecasts and providing regular updates
    • Contribute to cost control strategies and value engineering to support project outcomes
    • Assess and manage variations and change orders, including impacts on cost and programme
    • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards

    What We’re Looking For

    • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
    • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques
    • Confident in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial/commercial analysis
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills—able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Strong attention to detail and a consistent focus on accuracy

    Benefits

    • Pension
    • 28 days holiday including bank holidays
    • Training & development programmes (supporting your growth and career progression)
    • Bonus (scheme details to be discussed during recruitment)
    • Salary negotiable based on experience.

    We Value Inclusion

W13 Ltd believes great work comes from diverse teams. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, cultures, identities, and experiences. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, disability, gender identity, sex, sexual orientation, religion or belief, or any other protected characteristic.
