A leading autonomous systems and aerospace engineering business is looking for a Principal Technologist to help shape the future of advanced UAS capability in the UK.
This is a senior technical leadership role focused on autonomy, avionics, systems integration and emerging technologies. You’ll drive technology strategy, influence future product direction and lead innovation across next-generation autonomous flight systems.
The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on engineering and would suit someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems while helping shape long-term capability.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading technology roadmaps across advanced UAS systems
- Evaluating emerging technologies including AI/ML and autonomy
- Guiding systems architecture and integration decisions
- Leading R&D activities and innovation programmes
- Collaborating with industry, customers and academia
Key experience Needed:
- Strong background in UAS, avionics or autonomous systems
- Systems engineering and flight control knowledge
- Experience delivering technically complex platforms
- Ability to influence across engineering and business stakeholders
