How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Power BI Technical Lead

    Retail Sector (Supermarkets)
    Contract | Inside IR35

    We are recruiting an experienced Power BI Technical Lead to support a major reporting and analytics transformation programme within a leading organisation in the retail / supermarket sector. The role sits within a Data Science & Reporting | Data & Analytics function and will work closely with senior stakeholders to lead a large‑scale reporting migration.

    Contract Details

    Contract Length: Until December 2026
    Rate: £565 - £696 per day (Inside IR35, dependent on market)
    Location: Predominantly remote (WFH)
    Travel: Very occasional on-site attendance for workshops
    Clearance: Not required

    The Role

    As Power BI Technical Lead, you will take ownership of the technical delivery of a complex reporting migration programme. You will provide hands-on leadership, set technical standards, and identify key risks, dependencies, and migration considerations across enterprise-scale reporting solutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead the technical design and delivery of a Power BI reporting migration
    Provide deep Power BI expertise, defining standards and best practices
    Identify and communicate technical risks, constraints, and migration watch-outs
    Act as the senior technical authority across reporting solutions
    Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, and Engineering teams
    Engage with senior stakeholders to translate business needs into robust reporting solutions

    Required Experience

    Deep, hands-on Power BI expertise
    Proven experience leading at least one significant reporting migration programme
    Strong technical leadership experience in enterprise-scale environments
    Ability to clearly articulate technical risks, dependencies, and design decisions
    Experience working within Data & Analytics or Data Science & Reporting functions
    Retail sector experience, ideally within large supermarket or consumer-facing organisations
