We are recruiting an experienced Plant Technician in Reading to join a busy and professional technical team. This is a mobile role maintaining and repairing plant machinery and vehicles across Southern England to keep customer equipment safe, compliant and operational.
The Role : Plant Technician / Mobile Plant Engineer / Plant Mechanic
Carry out servicing, repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance on plant machinery and vehicles. Travel to client sites across Southern England for mobile repair work and support the workshop team as required. Maintain accurate records and ensure work is completed to high quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities of a Plant Technician / Mobile Plant Engineer
Perform major and minor repairs on plant machinery and vehicles
Carry out PDI works and attachment set up
Perform inspections and preventative maintenance according to schedules
Maintain inventory in service vehicles and keep work areas clean
Work with repair teams to diagnose and plan repairs
Complete documentation, warranty claims and service records
Assist with in house training for apprentices and trainees
Follow health, safety and compliance standards at all times
Skills and Qualifications for Plant Technician / Mobile Plant Engineer / Plant Mechanic
Level 3 NVQ, City and Guilds or IMI in Plant Machinery Repair and Maintenance
Experience diagnosing and repairing plant machinery and vehicles
Ability to identify worn and faulty components in line with DVSA standards
Full UK driving licence for relevant vehicle and machinery classes
Reliable, proactive and professional
