How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Safran Helicopter Engines is the world's leading manufacturer of rotorcraft turbines and the only one dedicated exclusively to this market. Operating worldwide, it employs 6,100 people and has more than 2,500 customers in 155 countries, and 21,500 engines in service.

    Master Production Scheduler
    Fareham

    Skills:
    - Degree‑level education in a relevant field
    - APICS CPIM or commitment to achieve it
    - Strong ERP/MRP experience
    - Deep understanding of MPS, CRP, and S&OP
    - Experience in aerospace/defence/automotive or similar regulated sector
    - Excellent Excel and analytical capability

    Your role:

Be the heartbeat of production planning at Safran Helicopter Engines UK.

We're creating a brand‑new Master Production Scheduler role to bring clarity, control, and long‑term planning discipline to a highly complex aerospace manufacturing environment. With long lead times, multi‑level BOMs, and specialised constrained resources, we need someone who can turn demand signals into a stable, achievable production plan.

You'll develop and own the Master Production Schedule, ensuring we deliver to our customers on time and at the highest quality. This is a rare opportunity to build a critical function from the ground up and directly influence delivery performance, cost, and customer satisfaction.

    Job Purpose

To develop, maintain, and optimise the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for Safran Helicopter Engines UK Ltd, ensuring that production plans are realistic, achievable, and aligned with customer demand, supply chain capability, and the organisation's strategic and industrial objectives.

The Master Production Scheduler provides the single, authoritative production plan for SHE UK. The role translates demand signals into a time‑phased, resource‑balanced schedule that enables the business to deliver aerospace components on time, at the required quality, and at the expected cost. This includes ensuring effective utilisation of constrained manufacturing resources, stabilising the production environment, and maintaining compliance with AS9100, Export Control, and all relevant regulatory requirements.

By introducing this role, SHE UK strengthens a critical control point that underpins operational performance, cost control, and customer satisfaction. Without disciplined master scheduling, the business faces heightened risks of lateness, cost overruns, and damage to Safran's customer relationships.

    Essential Criteria

Degree‑level qualification (or equivalent) in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
APICS CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) or equivalent professional planning qualification, or a demonstrable commitment to achieve certification within 12 months of appointment.
Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor LN/M3, or similar) within a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrable understanding of Master Production Scheduling, demand management, Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP), and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
3-5 years' experience as a Production Scheduler, Master Scheduler, Planning Analyst, or similar role within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Experience within aerospace, defence, automotive, or other regulated sectors, with working knowledge of AS9100, ITAR, or Export Control requirements.
Strong understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, lead times, and manufacturing work orders.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, scenario modelling) and competence with the wider Microsoft Office suite, including Power BI.
