How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Job

This is hands-on engineering in a live brewery where downtime isn't theoretical, it's expensive.

You'll be responsible for keeping production moving by maintaining, repairing, and improving mechanical systems across a high-volume FMCG environment. When something fails, you'll diagnose it quickly, fix it properly, and make sure it fails less often next time.

You'll work as part of a skilled engineering team who know the plant inside out and take pride in keeping it running safely and efficiently.

    What's In It For You

    £55,744 total package
4 on / 4 off shift pattern for genuine work-life rotation
Training and development if you want to progress further in engineering
Employee discounts across retail and lifestyle services
Employee Assistance Programme covering mental health, financial, and legal support
    £1,500 referral bonus
Wagestream access for flexible pay when life gets in the way

    What You'll Be Doing

Mechanical maintenance across pumps, valves, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and steam systems
Fault finding under pressure and restoring equipment back to full operation
Planned preventative maintenance to reduce repeat failures
Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects across site
Working with production teams to reduce downtime and improve performance
Coaching operators and colleagues to improve basic maintenance awareness

    What You'll Need

Time-served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline
Relevant qualifications (BTEC, ONC, HNC or equivalent)
FMCG or fast-paced production environment experience
Strong mechanical background with exposure to hydraulics, pneumatics, and steam systems
Ability to turn up, assess a problem, and get to root cause without guessing
Experience in bench fitting, general fabrication, TIG welding, or lathe work advantageous
Calm, methodical approach when everything is not calm or methodical

    £56000.00 - £57000.00 per year
