VIQU have partnered with a well-established telecoms and infrastructure specialist delivering critical cabling and wireless solutions across healthcare environments. This organisation has a strong reputation for quality delivery across NHS sites, offering a mix of BAU and project work, with clear opportunities to progress into project-focused roles for ambitious engineers.
This is a hands-on role working across multiple hospital sites, installing and maintaining structured cabling and wireless infrastructure. You’ll be part of a team environment (no lone working), contributing to essential connectivity projects in live environments.
Key Responsibilities
Install and terminate structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a) including outlets and patch panels
Test cabling using Fluke DTX 5000 (or equivalent)
Install wireless access points across hospital sites
Record and document all installations and test results
Support fibre cabling work when required
Work in line with CSCS/ESC standards and site safety regulations
Key Requirements
3+ years’ experience in data cabling installation and testing
Strong experience with structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a)
Fluke testing experience (DTX 5000 or similar)
CSCS or ESC card
Full UK driving licence
Based in or around Birmingham
Comfortable working in live environments (e.g. hospitals)
Fibre experience beneficial
