A welcoming and inclusive specialist school is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team as a SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time, long-term position. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support children and young people aged 5-16 with a range of additional needs including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, challenging behaviour and physical disabilities.
You will help:
Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions.
Support students with autism, communication needs, and emotional regulation.
Help manage behaviour using positive behaviour strategies, de-escalation techniques, and restorative approaches.
Support pupils with classroom learning, daily routines, and sensory activities.
Build positive relationships with students and staff.
Help children develop social skills, confidence, independence and self-esteem.The school are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant who is compassionate, dedicated and passionate about working with SEN. Previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults would be beneficial but not essential.
