How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Our client, a highly regarded engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced engineer to join their growing London team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a diverse range of prestigious projects across the commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and mixed-use sectors while playing a key role in project delivery and client engagement.

    The Opportunity

    As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the design and coordination of mechanical building services solutions from concept through to completion. You'll work closely with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, sustainable, and technically excellent designs.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead the mechanical design and delivery of building services projects.

    * Produce detailed HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling, and public health designs.

    * Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.

    * Attend client, contractor, and design team meetings.

    * Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams throughout project lifecycles.

    * Review project outputs and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

    * Support and mentor junior engineers.

    * Contribute to business development and client relationship management where appropriate.

    What We're Looking For

    * Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.

    * Proven experience within a Building Services consultancy environment.

    * Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services design.

    * Experience delivering projects across a variety of sectors.

    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

    * Proficiency with relevant design software and industry standards.

    * Chartered status or working towards Chartership is advantageous.
