How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Architectural Technologist
    Location: Birmingham
    Salary: £35-40,000

    A well established RIBA chartered architectural practice based in Birmingham is looking to appoint a skilled Architectural Technologist to join its growing team. The practice delivers projects across a variety of sectors including healthcare, hospitality, education, and residential, and is known for its high standards of design and client service. This opportunity would suit an Architectural Technologist with strong post qualification experience and excellent technical knowledge. Previous experience within the healthcare and residential sectors would be beneficial, alongside a strong working knowledge of Revit.

    Requirements for the Architectural Technologist role

    * Proven experience working through multiple RIBA stages
    * Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD within a BIM environment
    * HNC/HND qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
    * CIAT membership or progression towards chartership preferred
    * Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations and technical compliance
    * Strong communication, organisational, and problem solving abilities

    Key Responsibilities

    * Prepare detailed technical drawings and project documentation in line with company procedures
    * Coordinate and manage design information including drawings, specifications, and schedules using CAD and BIM software
    * Undertake Project Manager duties when required to support successful project delivery within programme and budget constraints
    * Attend site visits, client meetings, and internal coordination meetings as part of the project process
    * Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and appointments
    * Support quality control procedures and report any technical or contractual concerns to senior team members
