How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    My client is a well-established Building Services Consultancy, renowned for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical design solutions across a diverse range of sectors throughout the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a talented and experienced Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team in the Leeds office.

    Day-to-Day Responsibilities

    Designing and developing electrical systems for a variety of building projects
    Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery
    Conducting technical analysis and preparing detailed reports
    Attending meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss project progress and requirements
    Ensuring compliance with current industry standards and regulations
    Supporting the delivery of sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions

    Key Responsibilities

    Produce electrical building services designs across a broad range of projects
    Oversee project delivery from concept through to completion
    Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and calculations
    Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal design teams
    Attend project and client meetings, providing technical expertise and leadership
    Ensure all designs comply with current regulations and best practices
    Support and mentor junior engineers where required

    Required Skills & Experience

    Minimum 3 years' experience within Electrical Building Services Engineering
    Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
    Strong technical knowledge of building services design principles
    Proficiency in:
    Revit
    Dialux
    AutoCAD
    Bluebeam
    Excellent communication and teamwork skills
    Ambition to progress towards Chartered Engineer status

    Desirable Experience

    Experience within the following sectors would be advantageous:
