How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

    We are looking for a motivated individual to deliver high‑quality teaching across Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering programmes. You will support learners from a variety of backgrounds, bring energy and enthusiasm to the classroom, and contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum.

    You will deliver City & Guilds Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) Levels 1–3 and City & Guilds Technical Certificates Levels 1–3.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Delivering engaging teaching sessions and preparing relevant learning materials
    Marking and assessing student work
    Providing guidance, feedback and pastoral support to learners
    Acting as a personal tutor when required
    Working with awarding bodies and supporting exam processes
    Maintaining accurate documentation such as registers, schemes of work, course reviews, student reports and course files
    What We’re Looking For

    To be successful in this role, you should have:

    A minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering discipline
    A teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed) or willingness to work towards one within two years
    Awareness of quality standards within teaching
    Up‑to‑date knowledge of developments within your specialist area
    Understanding of a broad range of learning needs and support strategies
    Ability to analyse key information to inform teaching and learning
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    Energy, enthusiasm and a learner‑focused approach
    Welsh language skills (desirable)
