How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEN Teacher's (Secondary)

    Full-Time | Permanent | Start: September 2026
    Location: Reading 

    We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher (Secondary) to join our team from September 2026 on a full-time, permanent basis, working across the Reading area. This role is suitable for teachers with Secondary experience who are passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs. We have multiple roles currently available for Reading and the surrounding areas (Thatcham and Newbury). 

    The Role

    You will be working closely with students who have complex needs, including:

    Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
    Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
    Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
    Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
    You will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that support academic progress, communication, independence, and personal development. The role also involves close collaboration with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to ensure each pupil receives a holistic and inclusive education.

    The Ideal Candidate

    Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or are motivated to pursue teacher training
    Have previous experience working within a SEN environment (desirable)
    Demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive and differentiated teaching
    Are patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting pupils with complex needs
    Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
