How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    EMBS Engineering is working in partnership with a leading precision engineering manufacturer, located in Mansfield that is currently in the market for a CNC Machining Cell Shift Supervisor to join their company on a Permanent basis.

    Responsibilities

    Due to internal changes and off the back of continued success, our client is seeking an experienced CNC Machining Cell Shift Supervisor to join their team.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    As a CNC Machining Cell Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and supervising the CNC machining cell during your shift, ensuring all production targets, quality standards and safety requirements are met.

    You will:

    *

    Supervise and lead the CNC machining cell team throughout the day shift

    *

    Ensure production targets, quality standards and delivery commitments are achieved

    *

    Monitor and manage daily throughput, scrap levels and variable cost budgets

    *

    Support team leaders and shop floor employees in meeting safety, quality and productivity goals

    *

    Carry out regular employee performance reviews and provide technical support

    *

    Ensure all employees adhere to safety and quality policies and procedures

    *

    Monitor 6S routines and TPM/PPM schedules within the working area

    *

    Liaise with production control and senior management, reporting commitments and escalations promptly

    *

    Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across the machining cell

    Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:

    *

    Proven experience supervising or leading a CNC machining team within a precision engineering environment

    *

    Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, set-ups and operations

    *

    Excellent understanding of technical engineering drawings and NC/ISO programming

    *

    Competent in dimensional inspection using a range of measuring equipment (Verniers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, etc.)

    *

    Experience in performance managing teams and developing key employees

    *

    Ability to prioritise and manage escalations whilst maintaining production recovery plans

    *

    Time-served and/or apprenticeship-trained background preferred
