How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Role Overview
At Schneider Electric, we believe energy is a basic human right and are committed to delivering innovative, sustainable, and resilient solutions through our EcoStruxure™ platform.

We are seeking a Solutions Tender Engineer to join our UK Solution Centre tendering team, supporting the growth of our data centre business in a rapidly evolving market driven by cloud, AI, and high-density computing.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing high-quality, competitive technical and commercial proposals for integrated data centre infrastructure solutions. You will work across Schneider Electric’s portfolio, including UPS systems, power distribution, indoor and outdoor cooling, rack systems, environmental monitoring (DCIM), and modular/containerised solutions, contributing to projects from concept through to delivery.

You will operate within Schneider’s Customer Project Process (CPP) and work cross-functionally with sales, global product and factory teams, engineering, and key subject matter experts (SME) (procurement, finance, legal, and contracts, etc.). This collaboration ensures solutions are technically compliant, commercially robust, and aligned with both customer requirements and internal governance.

This is a key role supporting complex, high-value opportunities, offering exposure to cutting-edge technologies, including high-density environments, liquid cooling, and sustainable data centre solutions.

    About You:

    • Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure systems (power, cooling, and IT environment)
    • Ability to develop end-to-end integrated solutions
    • Strong commercial awareness, including cost modelling and margin considerations
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong organisational and time management capability
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines
    • High attention to detail and accuracy
    • Awareness of energy efficiency and sustainability considerations (e.g. PUE, carbon impact)
    • Experience working in a matrix or global organisation (desirable)

    Your Qualifications & Experience
    • Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
    • Proven experience in tendering, pre-sales, or application engineering within data centres or critical infrastructure
    • Experience working with multi-disciplinary infrastructure solutions
    • Knowledge of tendering processes and commercial frameworks

    Desirable:
    • Familiarity with data centre standards (e.g. Uptime Institute)
    • Experience with modular or prefabricated data centre solutions
    • Exposure to hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise environments

    What we offer you:

Competitive salary & Bonus Scheme, 28 Days Annual Leave + Public Holidays, Pension Scheme, Employee Share Ownership Programme, Various Health & Wellbeing Support Options, Gym Flex, Open Talent Market (internal mobility opportunities + access to mentors & projects globally), Shopping & Dining Discounts, Learning Portal and much more.

At Schneider Electric, Diversity & Inclusion is at the heart of our organisation, it's an integral part of our history, culture, and identity. We recognise that embracing diversity unlocks innovation and creativity and fosters collaboration. We want our employees to reflect the diversity of our communities and the customers we serve. As a result, our teams are stronger to drive the company's future.
