How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Temporary Housing Officer

    Hybrid Working

    📅 3-Month Contract (Potential Extension)

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Officer to join a well-established housing provider based in Derbyshire on an initial 3-month temporary contract.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and customer-focused Housing Officer looking for a hybrid role with a supportive team environment and the chance to make an immediate impact within social housing services.

    The Role

    As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality housing management service across a designated patch of properties. You will work closely with tenants, internal teams, and external agencies to ensure communities are safe, well-managed, and residents are fully supported.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Managing a caseload of tenancy and neighbourhood management issues

    * Conducting tenancy audits, estate inspections, and property visits

    * Handling anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases and neighbour disputes

    * Supporting tenancy sustainment and vulnerable tenants

    * Managing low-level rent arrears and tenancy breaches

    * Working closely with safeguarding, repairs, and income teams

    * Delivering excellent customer service and housing advice

    * Ensuring accurate case management and record keeping

    Requirements

    * Previous experience working as a Housing Officer, Tenancy Officer, Neighbourhood Officer, or similar within social housing, local authority, or housing association settings

    * Strong knowledge of housing management and tenancy legislation

    * Experience managing ASB and tenancy-related casework

    * Excellent communication and customer service skills

    * Ability to manage a busy and varied workload independently

    * Full UK driving licence preferred
