Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of repeat business, a long-established building contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Construction Estimator to join their team in Essex.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely alongside the company Directors, taking genuine ownership of tenders and playing an important role within a supportive, family-run business environment.
Projects typically range from £50k to £2m across the commercial, education, healthcare, residential, and refurbishment sectors.

The Role – Construction Estimator
This is a hands-on estimating role suited to someone who enjoys autonomy and wants to play a meaningful role within a growing contractor environment.
You will manage tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission, working closely with the Directors and wider team to assess opportunities, manage costs, identify risks, and secure commercially successful projects.
The successful candidate will be trusted to operate independently while contributing to tender strategy, project selection, and long-term business growth.
Requirements
* Proven experience working as a Construction Estimator within the building or construction sector
* Experience independently managing tenders from enquiry through to submission
* Strong background pricing commercial, education, healthcare, residential, or refurbishment projects
* Good understanding of construction methods, procurement, and subcontractor management
* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Comfortable working closely with Directors and senior stakeholders
* Proactive and self-sufficient approach
* Stable career history demonstrating commitment and reliability
