How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Building Surveyor - Hove - Multidisciplinary Consultancy - Great Team!

    A well-established private practice in Brighton and Hove is looking to strengthen its Building Surveying team with the addition of a talented and motivated Building Surveyor.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone considering a move locally who wants to join a supportive consultancy offering a diverse workload, strong client base, and clear progression opportunities.

    The Building Surveyor Role

    You'll play a key role in delivering a broad range of projects across the region, alongside providing high-quality professional services to both new and existing clients. The position offers real variety, working across both private and public sector schemes.

    You will be involved in:
    • Project delivery and client management across multiple sectors
    • Contract Administration and/or Employer's Agent roles
    • Delivery of professional services including:
    • Level 3 Building Surveys
    • Dilapidations
    • Party Wall matters
    • Defect diagnosis and investigations

    About You

    We're looking for a forward-thinking and adaptable Building Surveyor who is confident in managing projects and delivering professional services. You should be comfortable working with a range of clients and demonstrate a proactive, solutions-focused approach.

    You will either already be a chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) or part way through your APC and looking to obtain your professional qualification.
