How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Make a Meaningful Impact in Education

Looking for a role where your work truly counts and every day feels different? This could be exactly what you’ve been searching for.

We’re seeking motivated, flexible individuals to join us as Unqualified Teaching Assistants, supporting a range of schools across the Greater Norwich area. It’s an excellent chance to gain practical classroom experience while helping students grow in confidence, stay engaged, and achieve their potential.

Whether you’re considering a long-term career in education or simply want a role with purpose and variety, this opportunity offers both.

    What You’ll Be Doing

In this position, you’ll work closely with teachers and wider school teams, offering essential support to pupils with diverse needs — academically, socially, and behaviourally.

Expect variety: one day you might help with reading and writing activities, the next you could be encouraging students to stay focused and involved during lessons. Your presence will contribute to a supportive and structured learning environment.

    Key responsibilities include:

Assisting pupils during lessons to promote engagement and participation
    Supporting literacy and numeracy development
Encouraging positive behaviour and consistent classroom routines
Helping maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-organised environment
Collaborating with teachers and staff to support student progress
This is a people-centred role where your input can make a genuine difference to a child’s educational journey.

    Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need formal qualifications — what matters most is your mindset, reliability, and willingness to develop.

We’re particularly interested in people who are:

    Calm, patient, and reliable
    Approachable and confident role models
Adaptable and open to working across different schools
Strong communicators who thrive in a team environment
Experience in areas such as education, childcare, sports coaching, youth work, or care is helpful, but not essential.

    What You’ll Gain

We’re committed to supporting you just as much as the schools you’ll work in. When you join, you can expect:

Access to ongoing CPD and training opportunities
A Guaranteed Work Scheme (for eligible candidates)
    Competitive weekly pay
Extra pay for longer travel distances or extended hours
    Simple, user-friendly online booking systems
Ongoing guidance from a dedicated consultant

    Important Requirement

Due to the nature of this role, you must have a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, as travel between schools may sometimes be required at short notice.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

If you’re ready to begin a rewarding path in education and want to make a real difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply now and start building a meaningful career.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.

We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
