SALARY - £27,000 - £42,000 per annum, dependent on experience
My client is a specialist supplier of bespoke metalwork. They are looking for an experienced Design Technician to join their expanding team based in the Reading area on a permanent basis.
The Design Technician will ideally have the following attributes:
At least 2 years’ experience in a Mechanical Engineering or hands-on Design Engineering role
Knowledge of sheet metal, welding, fabrication, castings etc.
Basic proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software – Revit, AutoCAD
Ability to understand Architectural and Structural drawings
Knowledge of R&D - testing, protoyping, development etc.
Proficient using MS Office
Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
The ability to understand system requirements
Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
The Design Technician role will involve:
Designing and manufacturing prototypes and test equipment
Testing, performing experiments, prototyping, verifying designs
Using Revit & AutoCAD to provide detailed drawings
Working alongside Structural and Architectural Engineers
Being involved in final assembly of products
Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
Monitoring requirements and timescales
Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
