Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Primary Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Rochdale on a full-time maternity cover basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to support Key Stage 1 pupils with complex needs in a well-supported and nurturing environment.
The Role
You will take lead responsibility for a mixed-ability KS1 class, delivering personalised learning to pupils with a range of additional needs. The school provides a well-resourced and inclusive setting where staff work collaboratively to ensure every child is supported to succeed.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Physical Disabilities (PD)
Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with EHCPs
Create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and multidisciplinary teams
Monitor and assess pupil progress effectively
Support pupils with communication, behaviour, and sensory needs
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
Proven experience working within SEN settings – essential
Experience teaching KS1 or primary-aged pupils
Strong understanding of autism and complex learning needs
Confidence in managing challenging behaviours positively
A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
