How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you looking to be part of an engineering team that recognises innovative thinking? If so, then the following design engineer role we have in Ipswich, Suffolk that may be perfect for you.

    As a design engineer, you will be tasked with all areas of design, including continuous improvement and new product development from the initial idea to completion.

    Duties: -

    To design and develop new and existing products including all necessary equipment assemblies / weldments and parts.
    To prepare and maintain documentation used in the specification, manufacture, assembly, and support of company products.
    Perform relevant calculations including Finite Element Analysis of parts
    Participate on continuous improvement processes and development
    Support and maintain the existing product range
    Create and maintain BOM's
    Oversee and perform prototype machine testing
    Provide technical advice and assistance
    Create 3D models using Solidworks or similar
    Use of the MRP system
    Assist with producing technical files and documentation for all directive or legislative

    To be considered, you will need the following: -

    Proficient user of Inventor, Solidworks or a similar CAD program
    Qualification in Mechanical/Design Engineering or similar (ideally degree)
    Background working with new product development
    Knowledge of agricultural of plant machinery
    Ability to handle multiple projects whilst meeting deadlines
    Knowledge of industrial standards
    Experience of Microsoft & ERP Packages
    Valid Full UK driving license

    40 hours a week, 08:30-17:00.
