How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in the Gorton (M18) area from September 2026. This is a full-time opportunity within a supportive school environment, ideal for someone who is passionate about education and confident working with secondary-aged students.

    The school is known for its diverse community, strong pastoral support and welcoming staff team. They are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who can support students both academically and emotionally, while helping to maintain a positive and engaging learning environment.

    The Role Will Include:
    • Supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
    • Working alongside teachers to deliver engaging lessons
    • Providing 1:1 support for students who may require additional guidance
    • Leading and supporting small group interventions
    • Encouraging student participation, confidence and independence
    • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
    • Supporting pupils with varying learning abilities and needs
    • Building positive relationships with students, staff and parents
    • Assisting with safeguarding and student wellbeing

    The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
    ✔ Experience working with children or young people in any setting
    (school, tutoring, sports coaching, youth work, mentoring, care/support work etc.)
    ✔ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    ✔ Good behaviour management and confidence in the classroom
    ✔ A calm, resilient and adaptable approach
    ✔ Passion for supporting young people in education
    ✔ Ability to work effectively as part of a team
