How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEN Teacher – Maths & Science

    Permanent Contract – 40 hours per week, Term Time Only
    Salary: M1–M6 depending on skills and experience (£32,916 – £45,352 per annum for September starters)

    We are seeking a compassionate, creative and committed SEN Teacher to join our team and help deliver a truly personalised learning experience for young people.     About the Role

    As an SEN Teacher specialising in Maths and Science, you will work with learners aged 7–19 in small group and 1:1 settings, delivering an engaging and flexible curriculum across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

    You will work closely with Lead Teachers to create innovative, multi-sensory learning experiences tailored to each learner’s individual needs, interests and aspirations.

    The role focuses on building confidence, increasing engagement and supporting learners to progress academically, socially and emotionally, while ensuring their wellbeing, safety and inclusion remain central to all practice.

    Key Responsibilities

    Plan, deliver and review personalised learning programmes, including lesson plans and schemes of work
    Use creative and varied teaching approaches to maximise engagement and meet diverse learning needs
    Advocate for young people and involve them in decisions about their learning
    Support Learning Managers with learner profiles, SEN information, assessments, progress tracking and reports
    Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement planning
    Maintain accurate records and reporting for commissioning bodies, including EHCP documentation and transition planning
    Engage in ongoing professional development and remain up to date with best practice in SEN education

    Skills and Experience

    Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    Experience teaching either Maths or Science, or willingness to undertake professional development in these subjects
    SEN teaching experience (preferred)
    A relevant Level 6 qualification

    All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
