How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are currently supporting a number of secondary schools across Oldham who are looking to appoint passionate and dedicated Maths Teachers for a range of opportunities, including full-time, part-time and permanent positions. These roles are available for an immediate start as well as September, offering excellent flexibility for experienced teachers and ECTs alike who are seeking their next move within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment.

As a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with some opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will be joining departments that place a strong emphasis on high standards, behaviour for learning and pupil progress. Schools we work with are looking for teachers who can quickly build rapport, maintain a positive classroom environment and demonstrate a consistent track record of strong outcomes or the potential to do so.

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have recent experience teaching Maths within a UK secondary school setting. You will have a sound understanding of the national curriculum, effective assessment practices and the ability to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and disadvantaged pupils. Strong behaviour management skills, adaptability and a professional approach are essential for both long-term and day-to-day supply roles.

In return, you will have access to a variety of opportunities across reputable schools in Oldham, allowing you to find a role that suits your availability, career goals and preferred working pattern. Whether you are looking for the flexibility of supply, a long-term placement or a permanent position, we can support you every step of the way with a straightforward registration process and ongoing guidance from an experienced team.

If you are a committed Maths Teacher ready for a new challenge, we would be keen to hear from you. Apply today to be considered for current and upcoming roles in the Oldham area.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
