How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Workshop Foreman

    Key Responsibilities:

    Operational Support:

    Daily engagement with workshop supervisor and shift leads, building collaborative relationships, ensuring resource allocation is evenly balanced between S J Bargh and external customers.
    Monitor the Service reception function and assist Customer Service Advisor with any queries or opportunities. Ensure Scania booking in processes are being followed.
    Upsell the Scania product, utilise fixed priced repairs and special offers to engage current customers and attract new custom.
    Engage with Scania account Managers for technical assistance and help with claims, where required contact Scania workshops for updates on internal contracts and contract inclusions.
    Ensure a smooth flow of job cards to invoicing teams ensuring a consistent level of WIP within the required criteria are being effectively managed.
    Assist R&M and Warranty Administrator with technical queries to increase positive data entry and reduce rejected claims.
    Support management meetings and Scania representatives to discuss performance and discrepancies in operational procedures.
    Deliver customer satisfaction and act on any urgent demands from SJB.

    Staff Management:

    Assess and agree appropriate Scania product training by conducting 1-2-1 discussions with workshop staff to evaluate current skill levels and build training program to develop professional growth to ensure we align with Scania DOS.
    Provide feedback to workshop staff to promote professional growth.
    Measure and report technical efficiency ensuring systems around clock in-off jobs are being delivered to maximise workshop hours.
    Investigate MOT failures and report findings to National Fleet Manager and external retail customers.
    Recruit to budget headcount.

    Safety and Compliance:

    Monitor safety standards and ensure the workshops comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
    Report potential risks through monthly workshop inspections and monitor ISO requirements and updates.
    Attend site health and safety meetings and ensure any actions highlighted are addressed in the workshop.
    Assist the National Fleet Engineering Manager Scania workshop is compliant with special tooling, Overalls, service literature and data entry. That appearance, floors walls etc. are maintained periodically to ensure we comply expected DOS.
    Collaborate with external advisory bodies regarding Tachograph and Authorised Testing Facilities, for safety and standards.
    Act on any Transport Management request to assist compliance measures.
    Responsible monitoring of inspection documents ensuring sign off in R2C daily and upload data into AXSCEND.
    Manage and control Tru Tac defect rectification, ensuring all your team are on board with site procedures to safeguard the operation from the authorities.
    As a TM you will be responsible for managing the undertakings of 2 operating centres within SJ Bargh Ltd along with attending monthly meetings.
    Ensuring vehicles and trailers are serviced in line with SJB operating licence obligations and in line with government principles.

    Budgeting and Financial Management:

    Monitor expenses and implement cost efficiencies without affecting standards or customer service.
    Assist with monitoring third party and sub-contractor costs to ensure cost efficiency and standards.

    Collaboration and Communication:

    Collaborate with transport departments on a twice daily basis to align workshop operations with overall business requirements and strategies.
    Provide regular updates to management on workshop performance and operational challenges.
    Assist accounts with wage and clocking queries.

    Training and Development:

    From time to time, you will be asked to attend Scania events and courses aimed at improving brand and technical knowledge.
    Mentor, coach and develop your team and highlight any future growth opportunities to advance skillsets.
