How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Graduate Geotechnical Engineer

    Location: Canterbury
    Salary: £26,000-£30,000

    Are you a recent graduate looking to launch your career in geotechnical engineering? An exciting opportunity has become available to join a respected multidisciplinary consultancy working on a wide range of ground investigation, geotechnical, and infrastructure projects across the South East and wider UK.

    You will join a supportive and experienced team, gaining valuable hands-on experience across residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments while developing strong technical and professional skills within a collaborative environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Assisting with geotechnical site investigations and ground assessments
    Supporting intrusive ground investigations and site supervision
    Soil and rock logging, sampling, and groundwater monitoring
    Assisting with foundation assessments and earthworks evaluations
    Coordinating geotechnical laboratory testing
    Interpreting ground investigation data and preparing technical reports
    Supporting slope stability and retaining wall assessments
    Assisting senior engineers with project delivery and design work
    Maintaining health & safety standards during site activities
    Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal project teams

    What We're Looking For:

    A degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related subject
    A strong interest in geotechnical engineering and ground investigation
    Understanding of ground investigation techniques and geotechnical principles
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Proactive, organised, and enthusiastic approach to work
    Willingness to travel for site work across the UK
    Full UK driving licence
