Vehicle Damage Assessor

Our client, a well-established automotive accident repair centre in Cheltenham, is actively seeking a qualified Vehicle Damage Assessor to join their team.
This Vehicle Damage Assessor position offers a significant opportunity for an experienced professional to develop their career within a reputable organisation. The Vehicle Damage Assessor will be responsible for delivering accurate estimates, coordinating repairs, and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.

* Competitive starting salary from £40,000 to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience

* Standard 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Duties as a Vehicle Damage Assessor:
* The Vehicle Damage Assessor will prepare manual and computerised estimates efficiently, ensuring compliance with manufacturer, insurer, and customer specifications
* Maintain detailed records of all estimates, verifying that work without prior authorised approval is flagged and addressed appropriately
* Seek authorisation before starting any work not automatically approved, then manage subsequent communication
* The Vehicle Damage Assessor will liaise with bodyshop personnel to ensure full understanding of the work scope as per estimates
* Manage cases where vehicles are deemed total losses, liaising with insurers and bodyshop teams accordingly
* Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety policies relevant to the role and environment
* Uphold high standards of customer care and satisfaction through accurate and timely assessments
Requirements:
* Extensive experience in vehicle estimating, with Audatex qualification or training highly desirable
* Strong background in automotive accident repair with transferable skills considered
* ATA accreditation or manufacturer-approved training is advantageous but not essential, as training can be provided
* Valid UK driving licence with minimal penalty points
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
