How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

SEND Learning Support Worker – Lewisham College

Recruiting on behalf of Lewisham College through The Supply Register

Are you a caring, proactive individual with a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs? Do you have a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to make a real difference every day?

The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of Lewisham College for dedicated SEND Learning Support Workers to support students with the highest levels of need within the college setting.

This is an incredibly rewarding role where you will work directly with students aged 16–25, helping them to access learning, develop independence and achieve their potential in a safe and supportive environment.

    The Role

As a SEND Learning Support Worker, you will provide tailored support to students with a range of complex additional needs. No two days will be the same – support requirements and working days may vary depending on the individual student you are supporting.

This role requires someone who is:

    Caring, patient and compassionate
    Positive, adaptable and solution-focused
Confident supporting students with high levels of need
Comfortable with personal care responsibilities where required
Passionate about helping young people thrive
You will be expected to build positive relationships with students, promote independence and provide support both inside and outside of the classroom.

    Key Information

    Location: Lewisham College
    Hours: 9:00am – 4:00pm
Working Pattern: Likely to be 4 – 5 days per week
Students Supported: Young people aged 16–25
Support Needs: Needs and working days will vary according to the student being supported
Personal Care: This role will involve personal care
    What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from candidates who have:

Experience working within an SEN/SEND school environment
Experience in a care or support setting
A genuine passion for supporting individuals with additional needs
A strong work ethic and a flexible, can-do attitude
Experience using British Sign Language (BSL) or Makaton would be highly advantageous, although not essential.

    Salary

Working hours are expected to range between 26–35 hours per week, depending on student needs and timetable requirements
Equivalent to approximately £24,025 – £32,341 per annum (full-year equivalent)
If you are someone who genuinely cares, enjoys helping others and is ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people, we would love to hear from you.

Apply today through The Supply Register and help support learners to achieve their full potential at Lewisham College
