How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

On behalf of a highly regarded academy in Newham, our agency is seeking a dedicated and proactive Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team for the upcoming academic year. This is an exciting opportunity to make a measurable impact on young children's learning and development in a supportive, collaborative primary school environment.

    Key Responsibilities

As a vital part of the Key Stage 1 team, your day-to-day duties will include:

Phonics Delivery: Planning and delivering daily Read Write Inc. phonics sessions to a designated group, ensuring strong fidelity to the programme and excellent pupil progress.

Classroom Support: Working closely within a KS1 classroom and across the wider phase to support teaching and learning, helping all pupils achieve their full potential.

Assessment & Collaboration: Partnering with class teachers and the phonics lead to assess student progress, adapt learning provisions, and maintain exceptionally high standards in early reading and writing.

Wider School Duties: Supporting the school's OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) provision by supervising outdoor playtimes. You will help foster a positive, engaging, safe, and inclusive environment where active participation is encouraged for all children.

    What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will be a professional, organised, and flexible team player who brings:

Experience: Proven, hands-on experience working within a Key Stage 1 setting.

Specialist Knowledge: Completed Read Write Inc. phonics training with a confident, skilled track record of high-quality delivery.

Mindset: A proactive, positive approach with a genuine passion for supporting young children's development.

Skills: Strong communication skills, high expectations for student achievement, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

    What the Role Offers

This position offers fixed, consistent term-time hours (8am-4pm), allowing you to fully immerse yourself within a fantastic school community for the full academic year.
