The Opportunity
A leading engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Combat Systems Engineer to support high-profile maritime defence programmes, working on advanced surface fleet capabilities within a collaborative, hybrid working environment.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
Interpret client capability needs and develop robust engineering design solutions aligned with defence standards
Contribute to the development and assessment of electric propulsion architectures, including system layouts, power demands and equipment selection
Engage with key stakeholders to define system requirements and ensure alignment with operational needs
Evaluate propulsion options by analysing performance, cost, reliability, maintainability and associated risks
Produce clear, structured technical reports delivering insights, conclusions and recommendations within tight project timelinesYou will have the following qualifications and experience
Degree in Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
Chartered Engineer status with relevant experience, or significant industry experience supported by ongoing professional development
Proven background in warship or naval electric propulsion systems, particularly within surface combatants
Strong understanding of integrated electric propulsion systems, including design studies and ship acquisition phases
Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams and managing technical risk in complex engineering environmentsGet in touch now
