How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Security Service Engineer
    Security, CCTV and Access Control
    Derby DE1 3AF
    Mobile Role with Van Provided
    Day Shifts Mon-Fri

    We are recruiting for a field-based Security Systems Engineer to join a growing engineering team.

    The role involves servicing, maintaining, and occasionally installing electronic security systems across customer sites. Candidates should be self-motivated, customer-focused, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team while maintaining a professional approach at all times.
    The ideal candidate will be located local to Derby, Nottingham, Leicester or surrounding areas and happy to travel to customers across the UK.

    Other job titles might include: Field Service Security Engineer, CCTV & Access Control Engineer, Electronic Security Engineer, Security & CCTV Technician or similar.

    Key Responsibilities - Security & CCTV Engineer

    Service, maintain, and fault-find on electronic security systems across customer sites across the UK.
    Respond to planned and reactive service calls, ensuring excellent customer communication throughout
    Support small installation projects, site surveys, testing, and commissioning work
    Manage van stock levels and assist with maintenance planning for larger or complex sites
    Provide technical support to customers and internal teams, helping resolve issues quickly and professionally
    Take part in the call-out rota, attend training and team meetings, and be flexible for overtime or weekend work when required
    Key Requirements - Security Service Engineer

    Holds strong field service/installation or maintenance experience within the Security Industry
    Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills OR installation experience across a range of security systems and manufacturers
    Industry recognised qualifications in security systems (desirable)
    Experience working within residential or social housing environments
    Ability to complete technical documentation accurately
    Good working knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulatory compliance and Health & Safety regulations
    Full UK clean driving licence
    Salary & Package - Security Service Engineer:

    £30,000-£45,000 per annum
    Starting salary dependent on level and experience
