Job Title: Freelance Site Manager – Commercial Fit-Out | Southeast England Salary/Rate: £280 per day Location: Southeast England (London, Kent, Surrey, Essex & surrounding areas) Job Type: Freelance / Contract Start Date: Ongoing – multiple projects
The Role
We're recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for experienced Freelance Site Managers to join their growing Southeast delivery team on a project-by-project basis. Projects range from office refurbishments and commercial fit-outs to relocations, furniture moves, and Cat A/B interior works — all within the commercial interiors space (no groundworks or heavy civil engineering).
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, is comfortable moving between sites, and is looking to build a long-term relationship with a reputable contractor as they expand across the Southeast.
Work is project-based and will flex in volume as the pipeline grows — the client is looking for people they can call on repeatedly, with a view to increasing workload and potentially discussing longer-term arrangements for the right candidates.
Key Responsibilities
* Overseeing day-to-day site operations for commercial fit-out and interior refurbishment projects
* Managing subcontractors and coordinating trades on site
* Liaising with clients and the project team to ensure smooth delivery
* Ensuring health & safety compliance throughout the project lifecycle
* Reporting on progress, programme, and any issues to the project lead
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Site Manager within commercial fit-out or interior refurbishment
* Black CSCS Card (essential)
* SMSTS (essential)
* First Aid at Work (essential)
* Strong communication and client-facing skills
* Based in or able to work across the Southeast
* Comfortable moving from project to project and working independently on site
