An established precision engineering manufacturer supplying the aerospace and defence sectors is seeking an experienced CNC Setter / Programmer to join its growing team in High Wycombe.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist looking to work in a high-quality, technically challenging subcontract environment producing complex, low-volume precision components.
The successful candidate will be confident working independently across both CNC turning and milling operations, with the ability to take ownership of jobs from setup through to first-off inspection and production support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Set, prove out, and run first-off components on CNC lathes and machining centres
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications
• Produce and modify CNC programs using Siemens ShopTurn / ShopMill and ProtoTRAK systems
• Design and manufacture workholding solutions including soft jaws, fixtures, and jigs
• Carry out in-process and final inspection using standard metrology equipment
• Support continuous improvement and maintain production flow within the workshop
• Ensure all work is completed to strict aerospace quality standards
Requirements:
• Time-served CNC machinist with strong turning and milling experience
• Previous experience within a subcontract or high-mix, low-volume environment
• Good knowledge of Siemens ShopTurn / ShopMill
• Confident producing fixtures and workholding independently
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
• Strong inspection and problem-solving skills
• Aerospace or AS9100 environment experience desirable
