How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Description

    We're recruiting on behalf of a well‑established lighting company supplying the theatre, TV, film and events sectors. They're looking for a hands‑on Production Manager/Technical Lead to oversee job prep, warehouse operations, crew coordination and on‑site technical work.

    You'll manage planning calendars, transport logistics, job documentation, stock control and the smooth running of the warehouse team. The role also includes working at height, basic electrical repairs, equipment maintenance and leading installations on site.

    This is a small, friendly business known across the UK and internationally for its specialist work - a great opportunity for someone who wants to make a real impact as the company continues to grow.

    Key Responsibilities

    Operational Planning: Coordinate transport, maintain planning calendars, confirm site access and prepare job packs.
    Technical Work: Lead on-site installations, rigging and working at height; carry out equipment repairs and maintenance.
    Warehouse Leadership: Oversee stock prep/returns, maintain digital inventory and implement simple SOPs.
    Crew Support: Maintain crew availability, assist with briefs and support welfare planning.Ideal Candidate

    Strong technical background (lighting, AV, theatre or rigging).
    Confident working at height with solid H&S awareness.
    Highly organised with good IT skills.
    Proactive, reliable and comfortable managing multiple moving parts.
    Full UK driving licence; flexible for early starts/weekends in peak season

    £40000.00 - £45000.00 per year
