How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We are seeking an ambitious, innovative, and passionate Head of Geography to lead and develop our thriving Humanities faculty. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher and leader to shape a dynamic Geography curriculum that inspires curiosity about the world and equips students with the knowledge and skills to succeed in an ever-changing global society.

    We are looking for a motivated professional with a strong subject knowledge, high expectations for student achievement, and the vision to drive excellence across Key Stages 3–5.

    About the Role

    As Head of Geography, you will:

    Lead and manage the Geography department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning
    Develop an engaging, ambitious, and inclusive curriculum
    Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise attainment
    Inspire students through innovative teaching and enrichment opportunities
    Support and develop staff within the department
    Contribute to the wider success and strategic direction of the school

    The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    A strong academic background in Geography or a related field
    Proven experience of successful teaching across secondary age ranges
    Leadership experience or the readiness to step into a middle leadership role
    Excellent organisational and communication skills
    A commitment to high standards, inclusion, and student achievement
