How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Exciting Opportunity for Marine Project Engineer in South Shields -

    Our client is a leading private engineering company specialising in the marine and naval sector.

    They are committed to innovative solutions in marine engineering and naval technology, supporting national defence and commercial marine projects.

    Responsibilities of the Marine Project Engineer

    Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of marine engineering projects within the naval sector.

    Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful completions.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, fabrication, and testing departments.

    Conduct site visits and oversee on-site implementation to ensure compliance with technical standards and safety regulations.

    Prepare technical documentation, reports, and project proposals for clients.

    Engage with stakeholders to provide updates and mitigate potential project risks.

    Requirements:

    Proven experience as a Project Engineer with a focus on marine or naval engineering projects.

    Experience with engineering design, planning, and execution within the marine sector.

    Effective communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

    Relevant engineering qualification such as BSc or MSc in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field.
